Bitcoin ETFs See Third Week of Inflows; Ether ETFs Experience Outflows

US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have attracted $241.1 million in net inflows for a third consecutive week, while Ether ETFs experienced $138 million in net outflows during the same period, according to SoSoValue data.

Bitcoin ETFs have now recorded positive net inflows for three consecutive weeks. In the two preceding weeks, these funds attracted $2.4 billion and $6.2 million, respectively. Year-to-date, net inflows for Bitcoin ETFs stand at approximately $1.2 billion.

Conversely, Ether ETFs saw outflows of $138 million last week, a reversal from the $690 million they attracted the week prior. Year-to-date net inflows for Ether ETFs remain around $1.5 billion.

The broader altcoin ETF market also presented varied performance. Zcash funds experienced their first weekly outflow on record, shedding approximately $94 million. However, Solana ETFs continued their inflow streak with $2.4 million, and XRP ETFs extended their positive trend with $4.7 million in inflows.

Regarding asset performance, Bitcoin traded at approximately $86,200 at the time of publication, up 3.7% over the past seven days. Ether was priced around $2,727, showing a 3% increase over the same period.

Market sentiment, as indicated by Alternative.me’s Crypto Fear & Greed Index, remained in the “Greed” territory at 70, a slight decrease from the previous week’s 74. This suggests a minor cooling of market enthusiasm despite recent price gains.

Uncertainties persist regarding the specific reasons behind the Ether ETF outflows and the precise drivers of the sustained Bitcoin ETF inflows. The continuation of the current market sentiment also remains a point of observation.

Why This Matters

The divergent trends in Bitcoin and Ether ETF flows highlight evolving investor sentiment and market dynamics. Sustained inflows into Bitcoin ETFs alongside outflows from Ether ETFs suggest a potential shift in investor focus within the digital asset space.

Broader Context

Bitcoin ETF inflows reached a third straight week, while Ether ETFs swung to outflows and Zcash funds posted their first weekly outflow, indicating varied investor interest across different cryptocurrency-backed investment vehicles.
