Bitcoin Eyes $94,000 as $80,000 Level Emerges as Key Accumulation Zone
Bitcoin may be finding a local bottom around the $80,000 mark, with the $79,000 to $81,000 range shaping up as a significant accumulation zone. According to a prominent cryptocurrency analyst, current market dynamics suggest the world’s largest digital asset could rebound from its recent correction and target $94,000.
Analyst Sees Correction, Not Bear Market
In a recent market update, analyst Doctor Profit posited that Bitcoin’s dip from $88,000 to approximately $80,000 represents a correction within an ongoing bull market, rather than the onset of a new bear phase. He highlighted the current price range as a crucial support level for larger investors.
The analysis indicates that Bitcoin treasury companies and spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) investors have average entry points between $80,000 and $81,500. This concentration of investment could bolster market stability, as these investors may be less inclined to sell if prices hover near their acquisition costs.
Doctor Profit also observed a resurgence in spot buying activity around $80,000, coupled with a slowdown in profit-taking. He interprets these trends as signs of easing selling pressure. While some short-term holders have continued to divest, longer-term holders who acquired Bitcoin between $60,000 and $70,000 are reportedly showing little inclination to sell their positions. This confluence of robust demand, reduced selling, and ongoing accumulation could signal that Bitcoin is approaching a local trough.
Furthermore, the analyst noted that most retail traders appear decidedly bearish at current price levels. However, this negative sentiment could potentially fuel a recovery if selling pressure subsides and buyers reclaim market control.
Divergent Investor Sentiment and Exchange Flows
The Crypto Fear and Greed Index currently stands at 54. Doctor Profit believes this metric does not fully capture the apprehension among retail traders who have sold during the recent downturn or are awaiting lower entry points. In contrast, more seasoned investors who bought at lower prices appear to be maintaining their holdings. This disparity in market behavior could serve as another indicator that the recent correction is nearing its conclusion.
Doctor Profit anticipates Bitcoin could advance towards $94,000 if the market stages a recovery from its current levels. He pointed to a daily close above the 50-day exponential moving average as a key positive signal.
A similar divergence between retail investors and larger holders is also evident in exchange flow data. Another market commentator, Darkfost, reported that retail Bitcoin inflows to Binance have surged to a six-month high, increasing from $5.5 billion to $10.75 billion on a 30-day rolling basis.
Conversely, whale inflows have moved in the opposite direction. According to Darkfost, deposits from large holders have decreased from $5.9 billion at the end of August to $3.8 billion, suggesting that whales are not actively moving their Bitcoin onto exchanges for potential sale.
“This divergence is worth watching, particularly to see whether whales will maintain this restraint if the price keeps climbing.”
