Bitcoin's 4chan Prophecy: 2025 Top Predicted, Bottom Now Targeted

Bitcoin’s 4chan Prophecy Accurately Predicted Market Peak, Eyes New Highs

A cryptic prediction originating from the anonymous online forum 4chan has once again captured the attention of the cryptocurrency world, having accurately forecast Bitcoin’s market peak in October 2025 at nearly $126,000. The same model now suggests Bitcoin could surge to between $190,000 and $250,000 in 2026.

The anonymous trader, who gained notoriety for correctly identifying the October 6, 2025, peak, has seen their Bitcoin cycle model placed under renewed scrutiny. This model had previously marked October 5, 2026, as the expected market bottom. Currently, Bitcoin is trading around $85,547, approximately 32% below its all-time high but significantly above its July low of $58,000.

The prediction, first published in a 4chan post in December 2023, is based on a straightforward two-part cycle: a 1,064-day period from a major bear market low to the cycle top, followed by a 364-day period from the top to the subsequent major bottom.

While the model’s forecast for the 2025 peak proved remarkably precise, hitting around $126,000 on October 6, 2025, the predicted bottom on October 5, 2026, remains unconfirmed. Bitcoin’s current trading price of roughly $85,547, down about 32% from its record high, and its earlier dip to around $57,000 in July before a recovery, suggest the cycle may not have adhered strictly to the model’s timeline.

Bullish Outlook and Institutional Interest

Despite the divergence in the bottom prediction, the anonymous model’s sights are set higher. Its next major target projects Bitcoin to reach between $190,000 and $250,000. The model also offers long-term price targets for other major cryptocurrencies, suggesting Ethereum could reach $15,000–$20,000 and Solana $1,000–$1,500.

This bullish sentiment is echoed by other market observers. Crypto Rover noted that Bitcoin bear markets historically conclude around this phase, although current price action might indicate an earlier cycle bottom.

Adding further weight to the positive outlook, Citigroup has revised its 12-month Bitcoin price target upwards from $82,000 to $113,000. The financial institution cited improving market conditions, increased cryptocurrency activity, and renewed inflows into Bitcoin Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) as key drivers for this adjustment.

Corporate investment also continues to bolster the market. Michael Saylor’s company, MicroStrategy, acquired an additional 334 BTC for approximately $28.7 million between October 1 and October 4, bringing its total holdings to 848,000 BTC.

The critical question for the market now is whether Bitcoin can maintain its position above the $82,000 level and establish a new upward trend following the anticipated October bottom.
