Market Turmoil Follows Record Binance Hack, Altcoins Face Pressure
Cryptocurrency markets experienced significant turbulence today, with Binance at the center of a record-breaking hack exceeding $6 billion. The fallout has sent ripples across major altcoins, with Ethereum, Ripple, Cardano, and Binance Coin all showing notable declines.
Ethereum Faces Downward Pressure
Ethereum reacted swiftly to the market shock, shedding 7% over the past week. The digital asset is currently facing resistance at the $2,400 mark, a level that previously served as support but proved unable to withstand the recent sell-off. Analysts suggest that a test of the $2,000 support level is probable in the coming days, given the prevailing bearish sentiment and the formation of lower lows. A potential relief rally for ETH could emerge if it finds a stable footing at this key support.
XRP Struggles Amidst Selling Pressure
XRP closed the week down 6%, as sellers maintained their grip after transforming the $1.30 level into resistance. With this crucial barrier breached, buyers are now looking towards the $1.17 support. The persistent bearish momentum indicates that XRP remains in a downtrend, with the $1.17 level offering the most significant opportunity for a potential reversal. Looking forward, XRP is poised to erase a substantial portion of its August gains as the correction deepens. A critical juncture for XRP will be preventing a drop below $1.00 to restore buyer confidence.
Cardano Enters Deep Correction
Cardano’s ADA token concluded another week in negative territory, registering a 10% loss. This decline is largely attributed to the market volatility stemming from the Binance hack. Unfortunately for ADA bulls, the price has fallen below the $0.20 support, which has now shifted to become a resistance level. Without immediate signs of a rebound, ADA may need to fall further to attract renewed buyer interest. The nearest potential support that could trigger a reversal is around $0.17, though buyers might also target the $0.15 level, which provided solid backing in June. ADA is currently undergoing a significant correction, a move that is somewhat expected after its rally from $0.15 to $0.28. However, a sustained drop back to $0.15 could undermine confidence in a robust recovery.
BNB Shows Resilience Despite Hack
Despite Binance experiencing the largest cryptocurrency hack on record, its native token, BNB, saw a comparatively modest 7% weekly decline. This resilience suggests a strong underlying profitability and robustness of the Binance exchange, capable of absorbing billions in losses. BNB has found support at the $690 level, which is currently being tested. A failure to hold this level could see the cryptocurrency decline towards $580. In the coming weeks and months, BNB holders are likely to remain cautious as the resolution of the Binance hack unfolds. Any erosion of trust in Binance could directly impact BNB’s price action.
Hyperliquid Poised for Growth Following Strategic Partnership
In a significant development, Hyperliquid has been selected as the infrastructure layer for ICE, the entity behind the New York Stock Exchange. This partnership will enable ICE to deploy futures markets for US traders across a wide array of assets, including crypto, equities, commodities, and foreign exchange. This announcement provided a substantial boost to Hyperliquid’s chart, occurring just as the price was nearing a potential drop from its ascending channel. The HYPE token rallied back to $97 following the news, though sellers re-emerged to prevent it from reaching $100. Looking ahead, Hyperliquid’s market position and fundamental strengths appear exceptionally strong, as evidenced by its price performance throughout 2026. For the current rally to continue, bulls must establish $100 as a firm support level.
