Ripple vs. Gold: XRP Gains Momentum

Ripple vs. Gold: Is the Tide Finally Turning in XRP’s Favor?

Ripple’s cross-border token, XRP, has recently staged a recovery that has brought several long-term technical setups back into focus. However, one of the more unusual comparisons emerging does not involve Bitcoin, another cryptocurrency, or even the U.S. dollar.

Instead, analyst EGRAG CRYPTO has focused on XRP’s performance against gold, suggesting that the pair may be approaching a point where XRP begins to gain ground relative to the precious metal.

It is important to note that this analysis does not imply XRP is backed by gold or directly linked to it. Rather, the argument centers on the idea that their relative performance may be reaching a significant juncture on the analyst’s long-term charts. EGRAG has previously utilized the XRP/gold comparison to pinpoint periods where XRP experienced dramatic acceleration against gold.

His latest chart analysis again points to the possibility that XRP could eventually appreciate at a faster rate than gold, should historical patterns repeat. Such a development would signify a substantial shift in relative performance, particularly as gold has recently enjoyed a strong run, with investors seeking a safe haven amid fiscal concerns, geopolitical uncertainty, and currency debasement.

XRP, conversely, remains significantly below its all-time high of $1.00, despite recovering from sharp declines seen in August.

Therefore, this narrative is fundamentally a relative-value argument. XRP does not necessarily need gold to fall; it could simply appreciate at a faster rate, leading to a decisive upward turn for the pair. However, EGRAG remains optimistic that XRP will indeed surge higher while the precious metal experiences a decline.

XRP / XAU – A Convergence of Possibilities

EGRAG CRYPTO outlined a scenario where either a drop in gold prices or a surge in XRP would lead to a significant upward move in the XRP/XAU ratio.

“One of them will deliver the move: GOLD dumps → XRP/XAU explodes higher XRP pumps → XRP/XAU explodes higher But my thesis? BOTH happen. Gold retraces while #XRP accelerates, a powerful combination for this ratio. Fib… pic.twitter.com/byiAaVQocc,” EGRAG CRYPTO tweeted on September 26, 2026.

Broader XRP Price Targets and Bullish Indicators

In a separate analysis, EGRAG presented a more speculative long-term roadmap for XRP, identifying $1.75 as a crucial threshold. Holding above this level, he suggested, could pave the way for broader expansion toward major targets of $5-$8, or even an extreme development reaching $13.

EGRAG also mentioned $365 as a potential target for XRP, though he acknowledged this remains a hypothetical chart projection and currently appears far-fetched.

Meanwhile, fellow analyst ChartNerd has identified a similar pattern on XRP’s chart. In another long-term analysis, he noted that the asset is forming a multi-year cup-and-handle pattern based on Fibonacci targets, outlining major targets that align with EGRAG’s projections of $8 and $13.

Further supporting the bullish thesis is the recent behavior of market whales. These large participants have been accumulating XRP tokens in significant quantities, including a notable $720 million accumulation completed over the past several days.
