Schwartz Tackles XRP Spam Amidst Falling Holder Sentiment

The sentiment surrounding XRP has taken a downturn, with social media chatter about the cryptocurrency falling to its lowest point since July, according to crypto analyst Ali Martinez. Concurrently, David Schwartz, Ripple’s CTO Emeritus and a key architect of the XRP Ledger, has begun blocking users on X (formerly Twitter) who follow him solely to post insults and accusations.

These developments come as XRP trades near $1.19, following a more than 7% decline earlier this week.

Crowd Turns Bearish On XRP

Martinez observed a sharp shift towards negativity in online discussions about XRP. However, he suggested this could potentially benefit the token. Traders who subscribe to this contrarian view often look for moments of peak pessimism, as markets can frequently move counter to prevailing sentiment. Martinez noted that XRP appears to be forming a potential inverse head-and-shoulders bottom pattern on its chart, a technical indicator often interpreted as a signal that a downtrend is nearing its end.

“The bullish trade may not be overcrowded yet,” Martinez wrote, adding that most traders do not seem to have recognized this emerging pattern.

In a previous post, Martinez had identified the pattern’s neckline at $1.60, with a breakout above this level suggesting a potential rise to $2.10. XRP is currently trading significantly below this threshold.

Schwartz Draws A Line On Reply Spam

Schwartz reported a substantial increase in users replying to his posts within other users’ threads, often on topics unrelated to cryptocurrency. Many of these replies have accused him of fraud or labeled him a “scammer.”

Schwartz explained that these unsolicited replies flood the feeds of the original poster’s followers, leading some to block him as a consequence. To address this, he stated he will block users engaging in this behavior, regardless of whether their posts are critical or complimentary.

“I will block for this whether your post is a criticism or a compliment,” Schwartz declared.

He clarified that he does not object to criticism or accusations, provided they present substantive points rather than personal attacks and are posted in an appropriate forum, such as his own threads. He also extended an offer to unblock individuals who commit to ceasing such behavior, “even if you absolutely hate me.”

A New Space For XRP Projects

In response to a community member’s inquiry about how builders could bring new XRP Ledger projects to his attention, Schwartz welcomed the suggestion of a weekly thread for newcomers to introduce themselves. “That’s a great idea!!!!” he responded enthusiastically.

He subsequently initiated a thread inviting individuals to showcase their XRP and XRP Ledger projects. He also encouraged posts about other cryptocurrency ventures and even non-crypto initiatives.
