Solana Sees Explosive Growth in Tokenized Real-World Assets, Driven by Stock Tokens
Solana now boasts 1.73 million holders of tokenized real-world assets (RWAs), a figure that surged by 140,000 in just one week. This rapid expansion marks a significant acceleration for the network. In July 2026, Solana had surpassed 300,000 RWA holders. By mid-to-late October of the same year, that number had climbed to approximately 840,000 to 907,000. During that same period, the network saw roughly 1.4 to 1.5 million holders of tokenized stocks specifically.
Tokenized Stocks Lead the Charge
Tokenized stocks have been the primary driver of this growth, accounting for nearly 90% of new wallet holders during this recent surge. This user adoption has been mirrored in the value of assets on the network. By October 2026, the distributed RWA value on Solana had reached between $4.37 billion and $4.86 billion, a substantial increase from approximately $1.08 billion just a year prior.
Dominance in Trading Activity
Solana’s dominance is particularly evident in trading activity. The network has recently captured over 95% of the on-chain trading volume for tokenized equities. Cumulative tokenized stock trading volume on Solana surpassed $10 billion by June 2026, with monthly tokenized equity volume hitting $3.47 billion in the same month.
Several platforms are fueling this surge. xStocks offers a variety of tokenized equities, while Securitize and Ondo are also significant contributors to the network’s RWA expansion.
Institutional Interest and a New Niche
On the institutional front, BlackRock’s BUIDL fund has emerged as a notable player, valued at around $872 million on Solana. This brings a prominent Wall Street name to Solana’s RWA ecosystem.
While Solana still trails Ethereum in total RWA asset value—Ethereum having long been the established platform for institutional tokenization—Solana has carved out a distinct niche. Rather than solely competing on assets under management, it has become a hub for active trading of tokenized stocks.
Retail Users Emerge as a Key Force
Perhaps the most significant takeaway is the profile of the users engaging with these assets. While tokenization initiatives have historically focused on banks and asset managers modernizing their infrastructure, Solana’s numbers suggest that retail users may be the more dynamic force in this space.
Risks and Considerations
However, potential risks warrant attention. The value on Solana’s RWA side is concentrated within a limited number of products and platforms, with single large funds like BUIDL representing a substantial portion of the network’s tokenized value.
Furthermore, holder counts require careful examination. A wallet holding a small amount of a tokenized stock is counted the same as one with a significant position. This rapid growth in holder numbers indicates broad adoption but not necessarily deep engagement.
Looking ahead, the trajectory from 300,000 RWA holders in July 2026 to the current 1.73 million will be closely watched. Key indicators to monitor include whether weekly additions maintain their pace around 140,000, if tokenized stocks continue to represent nearly 90% of new holders, and whether Solana can begin to narrow the asset value gap with Ethereum.
