Solana's VIDA Token Surges Past Stock Performance

Digital Twins of Stocks Outpace Traditional Trading on Solana

A digital representation of a stock, known as a tokenized equity, is now seeing more trading activity than its traditional counterpart. Tokenized shares of Vida Global, trading under the ticker VIDAx on the Solana blockchain, recorded 248% more volume than the company’s conventional shares over a recent 30-day period.

This data, released by SolanaFloor on October 22, 2026, highlights a significant trend in the burgeoning market for tokenized assets. The VIDAx trading volume surge occurred in the 30 days leading up to the report, with the on-chain token significantly outperforming Vida Global’s shares traded on the NYSE American.

Vida Global is not the sole example of this phenomenon. The tokenized version of Trump Media & Technology Group, traded as DJT, achieved 27% of its traditional finance trading volume during the same timeframe.

The VIDAx token was introduced shortly after Vida Global’s public debut in May 2026. Since its inception, it has experienced rapid growth in both its holder base and trading volume. Lyle Pratt, CEO of Vida Global, has publicly acknowledged this momentum, frequently citing the expanding number of token holders and increasing trading activity as indicators of the experiment’s success.

The broader market for tokenized equities on Solana has also shown remarkable expansion. In September 2026 alone, these digital assets generated $4.4 billion in trading volume. The total supply of tokenized equity on the Solana network reached a record $684 million, marking a substantial 47% increase in just three weeks.

Solana’s tokenized equity market surpassed one million holder addresses around late September and early October. Consistently, Solana has dominated the global on-chain equity volume, accounting for over 95% of quarterly figures.

Issuers such as xStocks, supported by Backed Finance, and Backpack Securities are facilitating these tokenized shares, offering them on a 1:1 basis, where each token is intended to represent one underlying share. These tokens are traded on decentralized exchanges within the Solana ecosystem, including Raydium. A key advantage of blockchain technology is its continuous operation, meaning trading does not cease when traditional stock markets close.

When a tokenized equity begins to trade more actively than its underlying traditional stock, it shifts from being a mere reflection to a primary trading venue. If trading volume for VIDAx on Solana surpasses that of Vida Global’s shares on the NYSE American, the on-chain market could increasingly influence price discovery, particularly during off-hours.

However, it is important to approach these percentage increases with a degree of caution. A 248% increase signifies a ratio, not an absolute dollar amount, and such ratios can appear dramatic when the initial baseline volume is relatively modest.

Several risks warrant attention. The integrity of tokenized stocks relies on the issuer’s ability to maintain actual ownership of the underlying shares, meaning the 1:1 backing is only as secure as the custodian managing those assets. Furthermore, the advantage of round-the-clock trading presents a double-edged sword. While markets that never close can react instantaneously to news, they can also experience sharp price movements during periods when traditional markets are closed and liquidity is lower, potentially making it harder to absorb large orders.
