Strive Buys 2,822 More Bitcoin for $235 Million, Holdings Reach 35,600

Strive Accelerates Bitcoin Accumulation, Bolsters Reserves with $235 Million Purchase

New York, NY – Strive, a Nasdaq-listed company focused on accumulating Bitcoin, has significantly expanded its digital asset holdings, acquiring an additional 2,822 Bitcoin between October 12th and 13th. The company disclosed this substantial purchase in an 8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on October 14th.

Record Purchase and Growing Reserves

The recent acquisition, executed at an average price of approximately $83,266 per Bitcoin, including fees and related expenses, represents an investment of roughly $235 million. This latest move brings Strive’s total Bitcoin reserves to an impressive 35,595 coins.

PIPE Warrants Exercised, Boosting Capital

In parallel with its aggressive Bitcoin buying, Strive has also completed the exercise of all its traditional PIPE (private investment in public equity) warrants. This action is expected to inject approximately $369 million in new capital into the company, further strengthening its financial position and capacity for future acquisitions.

Rapid Accumulation Pace

Strive’s pace of Bitcoin accumulation has notably accelerated in recent weeks. CEO Matt Cole highlighted in a social media post on October 13th that the company had purchased 3,311 Bitcoin in the preceding week alone, bringing its total holdings to 32,773 coins. The week before that, Strive acquired 2,000 Bitcoin for approximately $169 million. Cumulatively, the company has added over 8,100 Bitcoin to its reserves in the past three weeks.

Financial Strategy and Future Outlook

The 8-K filing detailed that 273,493,909 traditional warrants were exercised during the October 12th-13th period, allowing for the subscription of 13,674,703 Class A ordinary shares. As of the market close on October 13th, no traditional warrants related to the PIPE transaction remained outstanding.

Cole further elaborated that approximately 94% of the traditional warrants have been exercised, resulting in an amplification ratio of 47% for the company. Strive is also actively issuing fixed-rate 15% perpetual preferred shares, designated as SATS, to specific investors through an IPO. These shares rank subordinate to existing SATA preferred shares, indicating an ongoing expansion of Strive’s financing strategies to support its Bitcoin accumulation efforts.

Competitive Landscape

With its latest acquisitions, Strive’s Bitcoin holdings are now nearly on par with those of Marathon Digital Holdings (MARA), which previously held approximately 35,577 Bitcoin, according to earlier reports. However, any recent changes in Marathon’s holdings are yet to be confirmed. Strive still trails behind Metaplanet, which holds around 44,000 Bitcoin, and Strategy, a significant player with substantially larger reserves.

Market Focus and Investor Considerations

The influx of capital from warrant exercises and the new SATS preferred share offering provides Strive with ample resources for continued Bitcoin purchases in the short term. Market observers will be closely watching how quickly these funds are converted into Bitcoin and whether Strive can further narrow the gap with Metaplanet by the end of the year. Investors are advised to remain cognizant of the inherent risks associated with this financing model, which closely ties the company’s stock performance to the price fluctuations of Bitcoin.
