Strive Buys 6,182 Bitcoin, Treasury Hits 43,000 BTC

Strive Boosts Bitcoin Holdings to 43,000 BTC Amid Aggressive Expansion

Strive has significantly expanded its Bitcoin reserves, adding another 6,182 BTC to its balance sheet, bringing its total holdings to 43,000 BTC. This marks a substantial increase for a company whose treasury reportedly held approximately 12,800 BTC at the beginning of the year.

Rapid Accumulation

The latest acquisition follows a pattern of aggressive buying. As of mid-October, Strive was reported to own 36,818 BTC. The addition of 6,182 BTC brings the total precisely to 43,000. The earlier holdings of 36,818 BTC had a market value exceeding $3 billion. Strive, which is publicly traded on Nasdaq under the ticker ASST, has been rapidly increasing its Bitcoin position.

In October alone, the company demonstrated a brisk pace of acquisition, reportedly making several purchases totaling over 4,000 BTC within a single week. These October purchases cost approximately $335 million, with average prices ranging between $82,000 and $84,500 per coin. However, research into these figures has also highlighted discrepancies between some reported purchase amounts and the totals formally disclosed by Strive, indicating that individual transaction figures do not always align perfectly with headline holdings.

Strive has been transparent about its ambitions, stating its goal to compete with the largest corporate Bitcoin holders by the end of the year.

Funding the Spree

Acquiring billions of dollars worth of Bitcoin naturally requires substantial capital. Strive has opted to finance this aggressive buying spree through capital markets rather than relying on operating cash flow.

The bulk of the funding has come from two primary sources. Warrant exercises generated approximately $369 million, while an issuance of SATS preferred stock raised an additional $630 million. These financing activities are detailed in Form 8-K filings submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in October. Companies utilize Form 8-K to inform investors of material events occurring between quarterly reports.

The same filings also indicate an average cost basis projected to fall between the high $80,000s and low $90,000s per BTC.

A Strategic Evolution

Strive’s significant Bitcoin journey began in January 2026, following its merger with Semler Scientific. This transaction brought in approximately 12,800 BTC, providing Strive with an immediate treasury to build upon. Since then, the company has more than tripled its holdings, growing from around 12,800 BTC to 36,818 by mid-October, and now to 43,000 with the latest purchase.

This rapid growth has positioned Strive among elite corporate Bitcoin holders. It is now ranked as the fourth-largest public corporate holder of Bitcoin, trailing entities such as Strategy and Metaplanet. For its shareholders, Strive is increasingly functioning as a Bitcoin investment vehicle with a stock ticker.

Financial Considerations and Transparency

The company’s funding structure presents potential trade-offs. Preferred stock typically carries obligations, such as dividend payments, that the company must meet regardless of Bitcoin’s market performance. If Bitcoin’s price falls below Strive’s projected cost basis of the high $80,000s to low $90,000s, the company’s Bitcoin treasury could be underwater on paper while these financial obligations remain.

The October purchases, made at prices between $82,000 and $84,500, were below the projected overall average cost. This suggests that earlier purchases were made at higher prices, and the company has been actively averaging down its cost basis as it continues to build its holdings.

A point of note for investors is the transparency surrounding these acquisitions. The discrepancies between some reported purchase figures and the formally disclosed totals serve as a reminder to anchor investment decisions on official SEC filings.

Future Outlook

Looking ahead, several key developments will be important to monitor. Firstly, whether Strive files new 8-K disclosures detailing the cost and funding of the most recent 6,182 BTC acquisition. Secondly, the company’s continued engagement with preferred stock markets and the terms associated with any future issuances. Finally, the extent to which Strive progresses toward its stated goal of rivaling the top Bitcoin holders by year-end will be a significant indicator of its strategic execution.
