Ripple Swell 2026 Kicks Off with Major Institutional Business Announcements
New York, NY – October 27, 2026 – Ripple’s annual Swell conference, officially running from October 27-29 in New York, began with a significant unveiling of developments across the company’s institutional business on its “Day 0.” CEO Brad Garlinghouse highlighted four key updates, including an appearance by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
Robinhood Enters Broad Strategic Partnership with Ripple
The most significant commercial announcement revealed yesterday was a comprehensive strategic partnership between Robinhood and Ripple. This collaboration will span stablecoins, treasury operations, institutional settlement, financing, and market access. Robinhood’s stablecoin, RLUSD, is already available on Robinhood Chain and Bitstamp by Robinhood, with plans for integration into the main Robinhood app later this year.
Vlad Tenev’s company will also leverage the stablecoin on the XRP Ledger for institutional settlement. Furthermore, Robinhood will integrate Ripple Treasury into its financial operations and expand its existing relationship with Ripple Prime. As previously reported, Ripple Prime currently provides Bitstamp by Robinhood with lending and margin financing for approximately 20 digital assets, and is set to introduce perpetual futures support by year-end.
Expanded BNY Mellon Collaboration and Tokenized Trade Finance Exploration
Ripple has also deepened its collaboration with BNY Mellon. The financial services giant now supports both XRP and RLUSD on its institutional digital asset custody platform. The two entities are also exploring tokenized trade finance on the XRP Ledger, which could include a supply-chain finance initiative in partnership with C2FO.
Ripple and C2FO Integrate Financing and Settlement on XRPL
In a separate announcement, Ripple and C2FO confirmed they are bringing financing and settlement for C2FO’s Instant Pay platform onto the XRP Ledger, utilizing RLUSD for settlement. This initiative aims to enable suppliers to receive funds within seconds, bypassing the delays associated with traditional bank transfers.
Ripple Treasury Launches 24/7 Returns
Ripple Treasury introduced its new “24/7 Returns” service this week. This offering is designed to allow eligible companies to deploy idle cash outside of conventional banking hours using qualifying digital assets, including RLUSD. The platform integrates cash management, forecasting, payments, liquidity tools, and AI-powered automation. Earlier this week, it was noted that this offering seeks to move corporate treasury functions beyond traditional banking hour limitations to an always-on model, with companies such as American Airlines, Subway, and Adecco already utilizing Ripple Treasury.
Ripple National Trust Bank Receives Final Regulatory Approval
In a crucial regulatory development, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) granted Ripple National Trust Bank its final regulatory approval. This completes a process that began with conditional approval in December 2025. The federally supervised entity will be authorized to manage segregated reserves supporting Ripple’s stablecoin, serve as a collateral trustee for holders, and offer fiduciary digital asset custody services.
Garlinghouse emphasized that these significant announcements were made on “Day 0” alone, with the main Swell program commencing afterward and further developments anticipated throughout the conference.
