Evernorth’s Nasdaq Debut Looms as XRP Faces Price Pressure
XRP is currently trading at $1.41, marking a decline of over 6% for the week. This comes as Evernorth, a company holding a reported 473 million XRP in its treasury, prepares for its Nasdaq debut under the ticker XRPN. The impending listing has sparked questions about its potential impact on XRP’s price, specifically whether it will attract new demand or if the market has already factored in the news.
Evernorth’s business combination with Armada Acquisition Corp. II reportedly concluded on October 9, following a one-day postponement from October 8 due to an administrative matter. The company also secured approximately $300 million in gross cash proceeds and has stated its intention to actively invest in XRP ecosystem strategies, including institutional yield and on-chain credit.
The company’s Nasdaq debut was anticipated for today, October 12, contingent on customary conditions and Nasdaq’s requirements. With XRP hovering near support after a reported weekly pullback, the listing may serve as a test of whether increased institutional exposure can stimulate spot demand.
At its current price of $1.41, XRP is positioned near immediate resistance at $1.42 and below the $1.50–$1.56 band, a level that would need to be breached for a more significant recovery. While the Evernorth Nasdaq listing could draw attention, sustained buying pressure in the spot market will be crucial for that attention to translate into meaningful price action.
The technical outlook for XRP appears constrained. The 200-day exponential moving average (EMA) is situated around $1.37, while the 20-day EMA is near $1.45, placing the price between longer-term support and nearer-term resistance. Support is concentrated in the $1.30–$1.34 range, with a deeper invalidation level at $1.26. Recent analysis of XRP support levels similarly suggests the market is watching to see if buyers can defend this zone.
The key question is which side will gain confirmation. The trading volume and price action following XRPN’s commencement on Nasdaq will likely be more indicative than short-term fluctuations. Further price targets and conditions for a substantial advance are detailed in an XRP outlook targeting the $2 level.
XRP has already seen a retreat of approximately 7% over the past week from its September highs between $1.60 and $1.65. The current 24-hour movement is also negative, leaving limited room for a headline-driven rally to improve the chart unless buyers can reclaim resistance levels.
Should the Evernorth listing fail to generate sustained momentum, some traders might shift their focus from large-cap catalysts to earlier-stage, higher-risk opportunities. This would represent a rotation rather than a hedging strategy.
