XRP Price Watch: 4 Key October Events

XRP Enters October With Key Events Poised to Shape Price Trajectory

XRP is heading into October with a slate of four significant events that analysts believe could influence its next price movement. XRP Seoul, the anticipated Evernorth acquisition, the XRPN Nasdaq launch, and an XRP Ledger upgrade are all slated to occur within days, drawing keen attention from traders.

With XRP currently trading around $1.58 and having seen a 16.2% increase this past week, market participants are closely observing whether these developments can propel the cryptocurrency toward the $2.90 mark.

XRP Seoul Focuses on XRPL Adoption

The first major event is scheduled for October 3rd with XRP Seoul, an gathering in South Korea designed to bring together banks, financial institutions, and representatives from Ripple. The summit is expected to highlight the adoption of the XRP Ledger (XRPL) for cross-border payments and other financial services. Ripple’s stablecoin, RLUSD, which recently surpassed a $2 billion market capitalization, is also anticipated to be a focal point. Discussions surrounding XRPL’s automated market makers (AMMs) and its compliance features are also likely to generate increased interest from financial institutions across Asia.

Evernorth Acquisition Bolsters Institutional Ties

Just four days later, on October 7th, another development could further solidify XRP’s institutional appeal. The planned acquisition of Evernorth by entities linked to Ripple is expected to reach completion. Evernorth operates within the digital infrastructure and asset management sectors. Its integration is anticipated to enhance the broader ecosystem with institutional custody and real-world asset (RWA) infrastructure, thereby deepening XRP’s connection to traditional financial services. Shareholders of Armada Acquisition Corp. II have already approved the business combination with Evernorth.

XRPN Set for Nasdaq Debut

The momentum is set to continue on October 8th, when XRPN is scheduled to commence trading on the Nasdaq. This launch arrives at a time when XRP investment products are already demonstrating robust demand. Bitwise’s XRP ETF has recorded inflows totaling $676.2 million, while Franklin Templeton’s XRPZ has reached $500.9 million. The introduction of another XRP product to the market raises questions about its potential to attract further demand through traditional brokerage accounts.

XRPL Upgrade Promises Technical Enhancements

The busy week will conclude with a significant technical event on October 9th, marking the opening of the XRP Ledger mainnet upgrade window. This upgrade is set to introduce improvements related to multi-signature verification and decentralized verifier networks (DVNs). Concurrently, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) recent guidance on cryptocurrency FAQs has addressed routine software updates on fully functional networks, clarifying that such changes do not automatically constitute investment contracts under the Howey test.

These four key events are expected to provide fresh impetus for XRP in the fourth quarter, amid sustained institutional demand. Technical analyst Dark Defender has identified significant resistance near the $1.60 level, where an estimated 2.5 billion XRP could act as a selling pressure. A sustained break above this threshold, he suggests, could pave the way for targets at $1.88 and $2.90. According to his chart analysis, a daily close above $1.5692 could also drive XRP towards $2.90 and $4.11. Meanwhile, U.S. spot XRP ETFs have experienced 11 consecutive weeks of inflows, pushing cumulative inflows past $1.79 billion.
