XRP Tumbles to $1.47: Market Dives

XRP Price Hovers Near $1.47 Amid Broader Market Sell-Off

XRP’s price is currently trading near $1.47, following a 2.60% decrease over the last 24 hours. The cryptocurrency market experienced a sharp downturn, largely driven by Bitcoin, which pressured XRP and other digital assets. This decline brought XRP closer to the $1.45-$1.50 support zone, an area where recent buyer interest has been observed.

Evernorth Delays Nasdaq Debut

In separate news, Evernorth has postponed the anticipated Nasdaq listing of its combined entity, which was set to trade under the ticker XRPN. The company cited an administrative delay as the reason for pushing back the expected merger closing with Armada Acquisition Corp. II to approximately October 9. Consequently, Nasdaq trading is now slated to commence around October 12, a slight shift from the original October 8 date. Evernorth stated that this delay is not expected to impact the overall merger completion.

Bitcoin’s Influence on Crypto Markets

The recent dip in XRP’s price is primarily attributed to broader weakness across the cryptocurrency landscape. Bitcoin saw a significant drop of nearly $2,000 within a 20-minute span on October 6, triggering substantial liquidations of leveraged positions. Approximately $394 million in leveraged long positions were liquidated within an hour, exacerbating selling pressure on major cryptocurrencies.

XRP mirrored this downward trend as traders reduced their risk exposure. This market movement also saw XRP fall below several short-term technical resistance levels around the $1.50 mark. The ability of Bitcoin to reclaim and sustain the $84,000 level could prove crucial for XRP and other prominent altcoins moving forward.

Derivatives Market Impact

The derivatives market also contributed to the pressure on XRP during its decline. Around $11 million in XRP long positions were liquidated as the price trended lower. This forced selling amplified the market-wide pressure, contributing to XRP’s descent toward the $1.45 support level.

XRP had been trading within a contracting range, and the recent sell-off pushed the price below its short-term moving averages. The $1.45 level is now a key area for traders to monitor.

Analyst Outlook on XRP

Despite the recent price action, analysts like Cryptic labs suggest that XRP’s short-term chart indicates a return of buyers near the $1.44-$1.45 range.

On the four-hour chart, XRP has been consolidating within a tight range, with resistance noted around $1.47. This compressed trading band suggests the market is poised for a significant move once either buyers or sellers establish dominance.

A sustained rally above $1.47 could pave the way for a move towards the $1.50 level and potentially extend to $1.62. Conversely, a four-hour close below approximately $1.38 would signal a weakening of the current technical setup and suggest a failure of the recent support structure.

The broader daily trend remains more robust than the short-term price fluctuations, with XRP still trading above its longer-term trend line and a recent higher low established around $1.31.
